  28. Doesn't really answer the question (not really surprising, it being a rhetorical
  29. one).  SCSI3 controllers are available to us too.  The Mac also uses PCI.  The
  30. Walker will be able to use PCI hardware.

  32. What I meant to say is that there's nothing "PC" about those pieces of hardware,
  33. just "mainstream".  The only reason they offer good performance and price
  34. (assuming that they do--can't say I'm an expert here) is that they sell a lot so
  35. there's more money for R&D and less production costs per piece.

  37. Had one of the better systems (ie. anything else) been the prevelant platform as
  38. they were developed, they would offer the same value for the same money, or
  39. better;  and using them on PC's would be either impossible, kludgy (as it is
  40. even now!) or prohibitively expensive.

  42. So thanks for taking the time, but I stand by my assertion that "the PC's chip
  43. technology is better" is utter nonsense.
